DUI Violations

When one exceeds the .08 percent blood alcohol content limit that was established by the state of New Jersey, they have committed a DUI violation. However, this is not the only BAC limit that was put in place by the state. Commercial drivers, for example, cannot exceed the .04 percent limit. And those who are under the age of 21 cannot exceed the .02 percent barrier. Furthermore, the punishments for a DUI violation vary on the number of the offense and the percentage amount over the limit. First offenses can results in a fine starting at $250 and up to 30 days in jail, and second offenses can have consequences of $500-$1000 fines and up to 90 days in jail.
